For a pathology laboratory, the team developed a cross-device concept to optimize work processes.

A key challenge lies in the manual handling of glass slides, which is currently performed entirely by hand. This task is highly monotonous and prone to work-safety issues, including wrist strain and repetitive-motion problems.

The new concept includes the robotization of sorting and reformatting procedures for various sample carriers. The project also covers the complete production and assembly of a demonstration system, followed by on-site commissioning and user training. A UR5e robot from Universal Robots serves as the core automation component of the solution.
